MUMBAI: Students at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) boycotted classes on Monday morning to join a protest march in Chembur in solidarity with students from Jamia Milia Islamia University and Aligarh Muslim University. The students raised slogans against police brutality in university campuses across the country as they walked out of the campus towards Ambedkar Garden.

Classes at the institute wore a deserted look at 8 am on a Monday morning. Some of the faculty members from the institute also joined the peaceful march.

Another protest march is organized at 4 pm outside Mumbai University’s Kalina campus. Students have called progressive organisations to join the fight against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Students from across the city are expected to join the protest.
