The students were demanding for transfer as the autonomous college has not yet declared their results for over 15 months.
“We have been going from pillar to post to seek some relief. However, it has been of no use. We have spent money and have even wasted so much of time. We want justice,” BEd student Ruchi Berashri told
Students will leave only when they get the assurance in writing, she added.
Additional director, R C Jatwa said that the file of Tagore College has already been forwarded to the principal secretary and the decision will be taken in the favour of the students. However, it will take a couple of days to get the order.
Principal of the lead college, Dr Sumitra Waskel intervened and asked students to stop the protest, however, the students said that unless they get in writing they will not leave the campus.
“I had a telephonic conversation at the commissioner’s office and I was informed that a letter has already been sent to National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to take action against the college and transfer students in some other college,” said Waskel.
