प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना 2020 को भारत के प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी के द्वारा 18th February 2016 को पुरे भारत देश के लिए लागु की गयी थी । इस योजना का मुख्य उद्देश्य भारत के किसानो की फसल को होने वाले नुकसान से सुरक्षा प्रदान करना है । इस योजना के अंतर्गत यदि किसी किसान को बारिश की वजह से या अन्य किसी कारन से अपनी फसल का नुकसान होता है तो केंद्र सरकार द्वारा उसे कुछ वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान कराइ जाती है ।

PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2020 – Objective

The main objective of this scheme is to avoid damage to the crops of farmers like rain, less rain, water-logging, lightning, landslide change. Through the PM Fasal Bima Scheme, farmers can claim damage caused to them by getting their crop insured. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the farmers, which has resulted in crop loss. Apart from this, farmers have to be encouraged for new and modern practices and contribute to farming.


इस योजना का मुख्य उद्देश्य किसानों की फसलों को नुकसान से बचाना है जैसे बारिश, कम बारिश, जल-जमाव, बिजली, भूस्खलन परिवर्तन। पीएम फसल बीमा योजना के माध्यम से, किसान अपनी फसल का बीमा करवाकर उन्हें होने वाले नुकसान का दावा कर सकते हैं। इस योजना का उद्देश्य किसानों को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करना है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप फसल बर्बाद हुई है। इसके अलावा, किसानों को नई और आधुनिक प्रथाओं के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाना चाहिए और खेती में योगदान करना चाहिए।

Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) – Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are varying for the different categories, so here we provide all the eligibility criteria of the farmer:-
For Borrowers

  • All farmers who have taken a short term loan from a co-operative bank or society
  • KCC cardholders, who already have an approved limit for the season, will be compulsorily covered on the basis of land and crop recorded in the record.
  • If any other crop is own by the farmer or the area of the land is different, then the farmer should contact the bank branch before the cutoff date.

For Others:- All other farmers, partnerships/tenants can also apply for the PMFBY through their nearest bank branch / SSC center / authorized insurance agent before the cutoff date.

Required Documents for PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2020

  • Copy of the saving bank account passbook.
  • Copy of the Aadhar Card
  • Copy of the Land Documents
  • Land details and self-proclaimed declaration of crop sowing.
  • Any other document which is required under State government.
  • Any applicant who wants to claim at the farm level then they require to file the claim at the insurance company / bank /
  • agriculture department or toll free number in the next 72 hours.

Crop coverage under PM Fasal Bima Scheme

There are three types of crop covered under the Prime Minister Fasal Bima Scheme, which name is given below:-

  • Food Crops (Cereals, Millets, and Pulses)
  • Oilseeds
  • Annual Commercial / Annual Horticultural crops.

PM Fasal Bima Yojana Online Registration Form 2020

  • Applicant required to visit the official site pmfby.gov.in
  • On the home page candidate require to click on the “Farmer Corner – Apply for Crop Insurance by Yourself” option.
  • Then choose the “Guest Farmer” option.
  • Now farmer required to fill all the compulsory details which are required for the PMFBY.
  • Finally, click on the “Create User” Button.

The premium amount for the Kharif is 2% and for the Rabi Crops it is 1.5% set under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, which is higher from the previous crop insurance scheme.
