Sahoo appealed all alumni to remain present on December 8 afternoon to welcome the President. “Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal, chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan and others will attend the function. It will be a memorable day for us,” he added.
Pradhan also reiterated Sahoo’s announcement and requested all alumni to come together on the day and welcome the President with love and respect.
“The special function on December 8 will be the closing ceremony of our Platinum Jubilee celebration,” said university vice chancellor Soumendra Mohan Patnaik.
The University had started its Platinum Jubilee celebration from November 27 last year. It had announced to organise different activities throughout the year to mark the 75th year of the institution and culminate this year.
The university decided to hold a five-day long function to culminate the programme. It conducted inauguration of the culmination ceremony on Saturday and Alumni Meet on Sunday. It will hold Parents Meet and Students Connect programme on November 25 and 26. Foundation Day of the university will be conducted on November 27.
Now the university has decided to close the whole celebration on December 8.
