Odisha: Students having less than 75% attendance not to be allowed to appear exam

BHUBANESWAR: Higher education department has asked all principals of government aided and non-government aided colleges of the state to make sure that students should reach the minimum 75 per cent attendance level.

Higher education secretary Saswat Mishra in his letter issued on Friday said the students having less than 75 per cent attendance shall not be allowed to appear in end-term examination.

The department had taken a decision recently that students have to attend at least 75 per cent of classes. “It is advised that whatever students’ attendance is below the prescribed minimum of 75 per cent level, remedial/extra classes should be held for those students so that they can reach the minimum attendance level,” said the secretary in his letter.
