The students from 12 International Baccalaureate (IB) schools and also those affiliated to other boards in the city discussed global and national issues at this Model United Nations (MUN) conference held in the city. The President of VKE, Robbin Ghosh said that, over 80 participants from over 12 schools deliberated, discussed, disputed and debated over threatening, significant and portentous problems that the world faces today.”
Some of the schools that participated in the conference was MIT Gurukul IB school, St. Anne’s School, PICT Model school, Balewadi , Orchid School, Lexicon International School among others.
The conference was divided into different councils, which focussed on different topics of discussion. Student groups formed councils and the United Nations Security Council discussed an array of topics such as money laundering, drug trafficking and crypto currency as mediums of terrorist financing.
Students also formed the Special, Political and Decolonisation Committee and on their agenda was the hostility stemming from the Hong Kong – Mainland China conflict.
An enthralling traditional dance performance performed by VKE’s Gayatri Sahaay and Sarah Chawala marked the end of the conference.
