Manjit Singh Dhaliwal, Director of the Khalsa University, met Prof BS Ghuman, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University to extend the academic help required for the setting up of the University for which 125 acres of land has already been acquired in Bellingham. In addition, the University management has also purchased the building of a government college to conduct the affairs of the University at the earliest possible said, Dhaliwal.
Prof Ghuman offered all kinds of help, including supplying of complete literature related to Sikhism in the form of digitised books, journals, scriptures and every other type of literature available with Punjabi University. Both Prof Ghuman and Dhaliwal agreed to work in collaboration with each other for the promotion of the cause of Sikhism in the shape of faculty and student exchange programmes, holding training workshops, seminars and symposia.
Prof Ghuman further said that Punjabi University will also support the imparting of instruction through an online platform with the help of the Government of India-sponsored Massive Open Online Courses(MOOCs) being produced by the Punjabi University’s Media Centre.
