The band gained great success for their albums, including their debut album The Clash, Give ’em enough rope, and London Calling. Their album Rolling stone was named the best album of the 1980s. But later, Keith left the Clash and joined Public Image Ltd in 1978, founded by himself, John Lydon, Jah Wobble, and Jim Walker. 

After leaving the Public image little, he moved to Los Angeles and worked with Red Hot Chilli peppers. He was married to Shelly da Cunha. On November 11, Keith passed away after battling liver cancer at age 65.
