The question paper of the `Education in Contemporary India’ exam held on Monday was the exact replica of last year’s question paper.
The faux pas was brought to the attention of the varsity by various college authorities as soon as the examination ended. The varsity in the evening announced cancelling of the exam and also postponed the remaining exams of first semester exams. Varsity authorities said that the new dates of the examination will be announced later.
Controller of examinations CC Babu said that the first semester BEd examinations to be held till December 13 have been postponed.
“The incident of repeat of question paper in the B.Ed. examination will be looked into by the syndicate examination standing committee,” he added.
Last month, Calicut University had postponed three third semester degree exams for distance education students out of suspicion that it had printed the correct answers for the multiple choice questions in bold letters in the question papers.
Also the varsity had recently found to its surprise during evaluation of the BA Afsal Ul Ulema fourth semester exam held in June had the correct answers among the four multiple choice options in the question paper were printed in bold. The examination was written by around 600 students.
