GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (Seba) on Tuesday declared the results of the much anticipated state-level Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) for elementary level held on November 10.

The results have been published in the websites ssa.assam.gov.in and sebaonline.org. The results were made available for the candidates in the two official websites of Sarba Siksha Abhiyan, Assam and Seba from early morning on Tuesday.

Total 3.76 lakh candidates appeared in the TET 2019 held for lower primary and upper primary standards. However, the results came as a major disappointment for thousands of candidates on the New Year eve.

In lower primary, the pass percentage was recorded to be 8.67 percent, while in the upper primary, the success rate stood at 9.65 percent.

In lower primary, 2.18 lakh candidates appeared in the test out of which 18,906 were declared successful. On the other hand in the upper primary standard, 1.58 lakh candidates took the TET, but, only 15,304 passed.

Many masters and PhD holders appeared for state-level TET 2019 for elementary level held across Assam.

Even as joblessness led many highly qualified candidates to appear for the elementary level TET this year, education department officials felt that

the this odd trend will boost foundation of elementary education. Candidates, who have qualified the elementary TET, are now eligible to teach upto

Class VIII in the schools in the state.

After seven years, state-level TET for elementary level was held in Assam on a large scale in November, where over three lakh candidates appeared.
