ADILABAD: Following extreme weather conditions in the district, the Adilabad district education officer (DEO) changed school timings from 10 am to 4 pm.

According to a circular issued by Adilabad’s district educational officer, all the mandal education officers and head masters of school managements were instructed to follow the revised timings. “The district collector Adilabad has approved the note and instructed to change the school timing from 10 am to 4 pm due to extreme cold weather conditions until further orders,” stated the circular. All the schools have been instructed to adhere to the revised timings and submit compliance to the DEO’s officer.

Adilabad recorded minimum temperature of five degree Celsius on Sunday, which was the coldest in Telangana. The temperature suddenly dipped from 17.2 degree Celsius on December 27 to 7.6 degree Celsius in 24 hours on December 28. It further slipped to five degree Celsius by December 29, thereby raising an alarm among local authorities.
